Rune Technologies Available!

Human Head Studios, Inc. has decided to offer the new technologies created for their upcoming game Rune for use by licensees of the Unreal Engine.  Under an agreement with Epic Games, Human Head Studios, Inc. will become a preferred provider of additional Unreal tech.  This set of technologies is offered solely by Human Head Studios, Inc., who will be responsible for the sale and support of these technologies to licensed users of Unreal and Unreal Tournament.

The Rune enhancements will work with either the base Unreal Engine, or the Unreal Tournament Engine.


The Rune Enhancements for the Unreal Engine include:

Skeletal Deformation and Dynamics

            -Imports full hierarchical skeletons and meshes from SoftImage

            -Support for translation, rotation, and scale on all joints

            -Play separate animations on different joints of a model

            -Blend an animation with another one

            -Apply effects (transparency, masking, etc.) to individual model parts

            -Rotational joint interpolation

            -Arbitrary attachment of actors to joints

            -Rigid body dynamics on joints

            -Oriented collision boxes on joints for localized damage

            -Script access to joints for head turning, limb severing, etc.

            -Left-handed mode

            -Additional animation compression

            -Import tool for adding game data, calculating LOD, compressing

Continuous Level-of-Detail system

            Real time vertex decimation

Projected Shadows

            Shadows that climb up walls

Particle System

Visual Performance Monitor

Extensive Debugging HUD
