Human Head Studios has operated for 20 years in the city of Madison, Wisconsin. As Madison continues to grow as a gaming hub within the Midwest, we think there are a lot of things to love about this city!

There are more than 20 game studios located in the state of Wisconsin, and many of those studios are concentrated within Madison. Human Head Studios shares a zip code with Filament Games, Raven Software, PerBlue, Flippfly, and many more. These studios are diverse, ranging from indie to AAA, and make games for classrooms and consoles alike.

There are plenty of Madison organizations for game developers to get involved as well; including Madison Indies, Midwest Game Developers, and Madison Women in Tech. The Wisconsin Games Alliance hosts countless events including M+DEV, a game developers conference that brings developers to Madison from all over the midwest.

Beyond our growing games scene, Madison is known for its fairs and festivals. There is a farmers market hosted on the square around the capitol building, free live music events, and food trucks galore. Madison is full of unique restaurants and venues that any “foodie” would appreciate, with cuisines inspired by many different cultures. True to our Wisconsin roots, there are plenty of craft breweries to explore, and lots of cheese to go around!

Sports enthusiasts will love going to Wisconsin Badgers games or catching a local Madison Mallards baseball game. There are countless recreational spaces to explore, and many accommodating spaces for cyclists. Lake Monona and Lake Mendota provide opportunities for watersports like sailing and kayaking, and those preferring to remain on the shore will enjoy Madison’s beaches.
