Nick Taylor is the animation director for Human Head Studios. Nick joined the studio as an animator for Prey 14 years ago. Since then, he has overseen dozens of projects. His favorite thing about Human Head is the collaborative and reliable company culture. Growing up in Louisiana, Nick found his love for video games in the local arcade. Every Friday, he would take his allowance and spend it all on favorites like Spy Hunter and Joust. Nick especially enjoys multiplayer games because he’s able to create his own memorable moments. After graduating high school in Ohio, Nick received his degree from Savannah College of Art and Design. He is also a cinephile and finds inspiration in many films. Some of his biggest artistic influences are artists like H.R. Giger and Frank Frazetta and directors like Ridley Scott and James Cameron. In his spare time, Nick likes to spend time with his family, play GTA V Online, and watch movies.

Advice for Aspiring Animators:
“You have to be very passionate to get over the walls that stand in the way of success. Look at those walls as barriers that exist for everyone else - purely obstacles that you will get over throughout your process. They don’t exist to keep you out, they exist to keep everyone else out. As long as you keep that mindset, you can power through a lot of the barriers that will inevitably present themselves. There will be a lot of things that might keep you from your goal. It’s not an easy path, by any stretch, and not everyone makes it. But, if you want it bad enough, you can attain it.”

Three Games that Everyone Should Play:
1. Grand Theft Auto Series
2. Team Ico Series
3. Evolution (Board Game)
