Head Count: Karen Ruiz

Karen Ruiz is an Environmental Artist at Human Head Studios. She began drawing in college, practicing her skills in a paper sketchbook before quickly taking her art to a digital space. She especially enjoys working with Photoshop, using the program to draw and paint. Before coming to Human Head, she was the Studio Artist at Creative Kingdoms, where she honed her craft. Originally setting out to work in animation, Karen was excited to find an opportunity to create art for a game development studio. When she isn’t at work, she likes to read manga, fantasy lite novels, and loves to cook.

Advice for Aspiring Artists:

“Be consistent in your art, and keep at it. Even if you aren’t good yet, as long as you are interested, you should keep trying and see where it leads you!”
