Bunny Lacey is a quality assurance tester hailing from Kimberly, Wisconsin. Bunny has been playing video games for as long as she can remember and always knew games would be an important part of her life. In high school, amidst many hours of Diablo 2 and Warcraft 3, Bunny directed her own independent study class for programming in Flash (now known as Animate). This self-driven curiosity has pushed her to learn many aspects of game development, from programming and scripting to art and design. After high school, Bunny graduated from Full Sail University in Orlando, Florida where she landed an internship in UI engineering and Flash game programming. She then moved to Washington, D.C. to work for Bean Creative as a primary programmer for various PBSKids learning games. To further develop her skill set, Bunny returned to Wisconsin and graduated from the University of Wisconsin-Madison with a degree in Computer Science. Bunny enjoys Human Head Studio’s culture and being surrounded by creative people. In her spare time, you can find Bunny playing Magic: The Gathering, watching StarCraft tournaments, and digging through various development programs.
Advice for Aspiring Game Developers:
“It can be tough to stay focused and motivated, but try building opportunities when you can. I tend to find motivation and energy by working with other people. There are plenty of creative networks and groups, find ones that share your interests and surround yourself with them. The more you stay involved, the more you can network and build friendships. Take the things that you admire about the people, the games, the art, and the music, and make them a part of you. Not only will you increase the chances of reaching your goals but it will help you become a more well-rounded person.”
