Ashley, or simply “Ash,” is a Wisconsin native and a Human Head Studios veteran. As one of our art directors, Ash works with the team to craft the experiences, visuals, and stories in our various games. His past titles range from concept artist to level designer, and his wide skill set is a testament to his work ethic. From a young age, Ash knew that art would be an important part of his life and has been drawing, painting, and sculpting ever since. His family was also a major source of inspiration and support, from his mother’s paintings, and sister’s stories, to helping his brother with short films. He grew up playing multiplayer games like GoldenEye 007 and Halo, but really began to consider game development as a career during his time at MATC. Another big influence was Ico because of its beautiful imagery, unique stories, and emotional experiences. Ash enjoys Human Head’s unique projects and opportunities, but his favorite part, by far, is the people who have become like a second family to him. Outside of work, Ash likes spending time with his family, making art (his wife is also a talented ceramic artist and inspiration), exercising, watching movies, and playing ukulele with his son.
