2017 has been a big year for Human Head Studios.

We celebrated our 20th anniversary as a games studio, going strong with all six of our original co-founders. In twenty years, we’ve released or announced twenty games - a milestone we’re very excited about! We’re grateful for all of the fun times we’ve had, and how much support we’ve received from our community along the way. While we were celebrating our anniversary in August, we received many kind messages from loyal fans who have followed us from inception and are still here to support our games today. We invite you to read the “thank you” letter from our co-founders and some of our other anniversary content here.

We announced two new games this year: Survived By and Rune: Ragnarok!

Survived By is a pixel MMO roguelite being published by Digital Extremes. We announced the game in late August and brought a demo of our Closed Alpha to PAX West in September. It was exciting seeing everyone play it for the first time, and we were happy to see it received so positively. We also brought Survived By to TwitchCon 2017 in mid-October, and met a wonderful group of future streaming partners. As Closed Beta approaches, we are excited to see how community feedback will help shape Survived By. If you’d like to join in the fun, you can register on our website for a chance to play and check out our forums.

Rune: Ragnarok is the much-anticipated follow-up to Rune. We announced it on our 20th anniversary, which was especially fitting as Rune was our first published game as a studio! Dedicated fans of the original Rune have joined the conversation on our forums and submitted to contests for a chance to have their content will be featured in game. We will be heading into our Closed Beta in 2018. Visit the Rune Ragnarok website to register your account for a chance at winning a Closed Beta key, check out our trailer, or take our God Alignment quiz.

In addition to these announcements we released Terminator 2: Judgement Day in spring. It’s a first person shooter designed with casinos in mind. Published by GameCo, it is one of the few gambling arcade games available in the United States. It can be played at one of their domestic locations in Atlantic City, Connecticut, and Oklahoma; as well as international locations in the Caribbean and Chile!

We have plenty to look forward to in the next year, as our studio continues to grow and both Survived By and Rune: Ragnarok move into Closed Beta. Thank you for all of your continued support, we wish you a wonderful 2018 filled with great games.
